11.21.08

pretty good, at least afterschool-wise [= didn't have to go home immediately, and that's always a good thing.

hmmmm so i've been doing my dialectical journal for the scarlet letter this entire week and am still not done. oh well. work work work alyssa, work!

once again, i'd quote things from today, but it's just one of those things where you HAD to be there [; you know.

okay. well. yup. back to hester prynne i go.

thanks be to God for a good day.

Four Day Weekend

was tiiiiiiight! ahahaha, i'd love to relive friday. that was FUN. walking to the shoppes, the security guards keeping their eyes on us, smoothie shop, victoria's secret, ten fingers, hot seat, bobaloca, community park, brownout, taking the detour which DID NOT WORK, dying feet, kathleen's house, jamming, all that good stuff (;

i'd quote a bunch of stuff from that day, but it's just one of those things where you HAD TO BE THERE, yknoww? so i won't bother.

saturday was... i don't remember what i did on saturday. wow. OH WAIT I REMEMBER NOW! went to long beach to pick some things up, came back and just vegged out for the rest of the day. hahahh that's so eventful.

sunday, went to church at st. madeleine and helped out the choir for a bit, then somebody told me i was in the sunday bulletin, and i checked and it was true, so i grabbed about six copies. heheheh it's true.

monday.. AHMAHGAWD. comes in second to friday, only because friday just can't be beattt. so freakin' random.. so monday started out with my mom and i going around chino hills (all the way to montclair!), looking for a suitable uniform for volunteer. hahah i procrastinate so much sometimes. then we finally found it, and i changed into it, and looked like a snowflake.

whole thing wasn't so bad (: and we all got free umbrellas. woo!

today was pretty chill i guess. just did my homework (still not done with apush, but i'm pretty close) and i was supposed to go to a poly officer meeting but my mom was working so i didn't have a ride. i might go with shannen and her friends to the shoppes to eat and to the movies. danggg i can't believe the long weekend's almost over =[

mahal kita, kita kits <3

A Week With Shannen

oh, my gulay. this week will be outrageous and hectic. i can already tell. i'm spending a week with that girl, for goodness sakes. that should say enough.. (: well she keeps life interesting and fresh and i honestly can't imagine life without her, so it's all good. it's all very very good. she's marching up the stairs right now and she's kind of burned out because she's been doing this project thingy for a book she's reading in english. poor thing. she's typed 50 pages. damn.

anyway, yeah, i'm stuck in chino hills for a week. wooo. hello chino hillians. i am one of you now.
NAAAAH

mmm so what's going on this week. lemme think.
stuff due tomorrow, stuff due on tuesday, poly, CCD, tests galore
i think i'll survive. i've done it once, i can do it again.
i should start working on my DJ for scarlet letter, shoooot

november 10, i gotta go to this "final approval meeting" for pvhmc volunteering. i'm kinda excited about the whole volunteering thing, i mean i've volunteered a lot before but this is a whole new thing for me and i can't wait to interact with people (: even thouh i'm working in non-patient areas, ahaha. so much for music therapy. i really want to do that eventually. i think it's fascinating. but no, for now i'll just be taking phone calls and filing stuff and you know what, i'm okay with that. i should find some white clothing soon.. i was thinking about that when i was at the orientation, and it occurred to me, what if i was on my period, wearing white, and something happened and the white pants got stained? jeeeebus that's not a good thought.

anyway, yeah, i hope this turns out to be a good experience for me.

shannen's back in the computer room and she's typing more for her english project. oh my gosh she's singing now. i think she's gone loopy for the time being. i'm typing on her laptop right now and my legs are becoming warmer and warmer. uh oh. i hope they don't melt off

well that's it for now, kinda random eh, but that's just how my thoughts come out. ciao <3

Semi-Procrastination

i really don't want to do my rhetorical precis right now, i feel overwhelmed, i just want to sleep for a few minutes but i KNOW for a fact that it'll turn into a few hours. or more. i miss some people. i miss them a lot. ughhhhhhhh what's happened to everybody?

today was okay. math was bleh, english was wheee, apush was okay, ASL was kinda boring, choir was musical, and chem was JASDKLFJSLA;DF SOMEONE TUTOR ME PLEASE.

in fact, tutor me for math too if you can. i am a lowly trig/precal student so if you've already taken then, then by all means, i'd love a helping hand. [= as long as you know what you're doing, hahaha.

there's no CCD tomorrow but i'm doing some TB test ishh. i think they're going to poke me in the arm again? i guess i'm gonna have to close my eyes and sing a happy song.

my rhetorical precis article is "L.A.'s rape kit betrayal" by tim rutten. interesting stuff, you should google it and read it. honestly, this thing is more challenging than an actual essay, in my opinion..

i should probably get back to work on it.

10.17.08

was a pretty good day, to say the least (:

polynesian practice, "something ALWAYS happens", trekking up the hill, trekking DOWN the hill, sports chalet, best buy, hannah montana acoustic guitar, "this is so fun", the jesus jive, eagle eye (blehhh), walking around aimlessly, kids out past curfew, the free soda coupon (thank you nice lady!), and a whole lot of other things.

not a worry in the world, if just for that moment. thank you to all who made my day !

10.10.08-10.12.08

was THE BEST. (:

So many memories were made, and I'm fully convinced that I had the best small group EVER with the most awesome crosstrainers. I laughed so much this past weekend, it's not even funny (pun intended). I can't even describe everything, 'cause if I did, it'd take me a good day or two, but the highlights were as follows:

Meeting the small group
trekking
oo-dah-lay-oo-dah-lay (whaa?)
skits
the small group cheers
adoration
talks
women's session
prayer session
EVERY TIME WE ATE (:
King Elephant
"Milk me now!"
That grass-is-lava game
Piggybacking
More small group time
The tadpole pond
Chapel
Confession
Letters <-- oh gosh.
Do you love your NEIIIIGHBAH?
Immaculada
POST-retreat in the courtyard
soymilk & saint bracelets
testimonies
mass with my brothers and sisters
the slideshow

Such a pity it ended so soon :[

I miss you

So everything's going pretty well right now. School will always be school so I can't really say anything about that. Tomorrow's unity night at St. Paul and I'm having my Con2 retreat this Friday-Sunday, so that should be great :] I just hope I don't become a human waterfall this time again, hahah.

Today was pretty good. Productive for the most part. Got my outline, worksheet, and both chem chapters done today. Even a bit of the argumentative essay.

The first polynesian practice is this Wednesday! Time's gone by so fast.

I miss some people. A lot.

Kita kits, whoever's reading this.

So...

today was okay.

Yesterday was great though. :]

That's all for now.

Tuesday, September 23, 2008

My gash, my goodness.

The rest of the week, I predict, is going to be AKDSJFA;SDKLFJL !!!

Tomorrow: Aloha Expo, homework homework homework, APUSH STUDYING, tone project
Thursday: Homework homework homework, APUSH STUDYING, tone project
Friday: Trig/Precal quiz, APUSH Test (freakin' 90 pages worth of info), EAP vocab quiz.. at least I can sleep in that night.

*sigh* So much going on. Not complaining, but c'mon, I'm only human.

Gonna work on my tone illumination project now.. well, soon.

My little sister Ani might call me tonight, and that makes me really happy :] I miss her and Axi a LOT LOT LOT, I wish they and my dad lived closer, but I can't control that now can I. I recently started visiting them over the summer (this year was the second time I was able to do that), but it's just not the same. I wish they could come here for a change, there's so many things that I want to show them. And I really want Ani and Axi to experience Disneyland before they grow out of it. I mean, you NEVER grow out of Disneyland (I think we're all living proof of that) but it's just so much more magical when you're a kid, y'know? My dad says that he'll come to watch me graduate from high school, but that's not terribly soon. This summer, I don't know. So much family drama in that spot of the world that it's not even funny, ahah.

HA, I'm talking about summer already and the first month of school isn't even over yet! Wow self, wow.

So in short, I'm going to try to stay as positive as possible and work hard. and everything.

:]

I'm off to see the wizard!

I wish it was possible to visit that magical land where munchkins run rampant and all the brick roads are yellow.

Not really. But it'd be a nice change.

Today I've got quite a bit of hullabaloo going on. I'm leaving for Michael's Arts and Crafts in five minutes, then Food 4 Less for my antibacterial lotion Kleenex ("Advanced tissue for advanced students", he claims), then working on my tone illumination project as much as I can. Not to mention practicing for a performance on Saturday.

And studying for APUSH, getting my OpEd article, and descriptive essay.

Take me now, sweet mother of pearl.

It's not so bad. :]

Love you guys.

It's been a while...

... since I've updated this thing. Thank you, AP classes.

Junior year is SO MUCH DIFFERENTERENTENT than sophomore year. No extra-'specially-difficult classes last year, except maybe biology; this year, every class is harder, except for choir, which is still a bit of a challenge 'cause I can't hit the damn notes, HAHAH.

Today was okay lang. Woke up at 6:30 with an extremely strong urge to pee, so.. well.. I did. Went back to sleep, woke up at 9:30 and launched into homework mode. First I did the trig/precal stuff then started my APUSH outline. Went to the library at 2:00 and worked on my APUSH outline some more and the tone illumination project for AP E then went to church [= Then got some take-out dinner, went home, played with the itty bitty fluffies, and went home, took a shower, and here I am now.

It sounds so boring when I put it that way. Then again, it probably is.

I wish I could play music with someone, just for fun. In a group? Even better. I don't mean performing or anything, although that would be so wonderful; you don't even know. I just mean jamming for fun, and ACTUALLY working with one another, not dictating. *cough cough* I guess time will tell.

I miss Cebu. A lot a lot a lot. If only it was possible to travel back seven years and see the way it used to be. So much has changed.

Well.

A watermelon slice is calling my name.

Bye, pipsqueaks.

Rather bland.

School's in.

1. Trig/Precal H
2. English 11 AP
3. US History AP
4. Sign Language 3H
5. Choir
6. Chemistry H

Not too shabby of a schedule, but the only classes in which I have close friends are APUSH and Choir. But I'm not complaining.

I think I'm gonna go for some Trig tutoring. I'll probably need it.

I'm gonna go to Staples, Walmart, and the 99 cents store now.
Goodbyeeee :)

Different.

School's starting in roughly two days. And I'm actually kind of excited for it. Yeah, junior year's a lot of work and all (I can already feel it, I have a LOT to balance this year), but I'm up for it. Veryverymuch.

I miss Cebu a lot a lot a lot. I want to see my dad and sisters again. I kind of wish I could go to school there, but ha, God knows the confusion that would arise since I can't speak a word in the dialect.. okay that's an exaggeration but I definitely can't speak MUCH bisaya, that's for sure. If I could, I'd go to school in Manila since communication would be waaay easier, but I wouldn't be able to stay with anyone! Aaaah

Oh well. Thankful that I'm going to school here; my friends are the best I could ever ask for.

Currently stressing on a dialectical journal but I'll take care of that. Either this afternoon or tomorrow. I'm typing in sentence fragments wheeee

I miss the way Cebu used to be. It's changed so much since I left, not to mention that people treat me like I'm some some arte Americana and try to embarrass me by asking "Sabot ka?" ("Do you understand?") in hopes that I'll respond totally clueless, and talk about me in bisaya when I'M RIGHT THERE, thinking that I don't understand a single word

I miss when I was an only child, not that I don't love my sisters. But it's different. Not a bad kind of different, just.. well, try leaving your home for a few years and coming back to two new sisters and see how you take it.

You know you love them and you think they're the cutest things on earth (most of the time), but you can't help but think about how you used to be the only kid, your father's only kid, who had his undivided attention, not like I had it back then anyway, but I feel it just the same.

School, family, priorities: things are different now.
